from 01/08/2020 to 13/09/2020
The exhibition A.S.I.A., which the Umbrian artist David Pompili dedicates to the film star Asia Argento, will be exhibited from 31 July to 13 September at Clarisse Arte in Grosseto. An exhibition event that constitutes the first cultural initiative of the third edition of the Saturnia Film Festival, the international short film festival to be held in September in the square of Saturnia (Municipality of Manciano) and in the Terme di Saturnia Spa & Golf Resort.
The exhibition, curated by Massimo Magurano, consists of blow-ups / portraits in acrylic on paper. In 2019 it was set up at MACRO in Rome with the care of Gianluca Marziale. The iconic celebration of some significant personalities from the world of art, music and cinema plays an important role in David Pompili's work. In his works Pompili, while retaining his original stylistic code, manages, with extreme formal ease, to mix elements from the most varied artistic movements: on the one hand Pop and Street Art, on the other the historical avant-garde.
Pompili offers us with his installations an ironic and scratchy glimpse of the history of the contemporary world, staging and monumentalizing the absurd waste of the mainstream, the rampant pseudo-cultural trash, the contradictory fragments of politics-entertainment and the telebalera, the dejections of the society of consumption. In short, all the fragility and uncertainties of our era.
It will be possible to visit the exhibition: Friday-Saturday-Sunday 10.00 / 13.00 - 16.00 / 19.00 hours; the other days by reservation. Info: www.clarissegrosseto.it Promozione@fondazionegrossetocultura.it, tel. 0564488067.
