The AQUARIUM MONDO MARINO is both a centre of marine environmental education and the headquarters of the SHARKS StUDIES CENTRE that undertakes studies on sharks in South Africa and in the Mediterranean. At the AQUARIUM MONDO MARINO there are 37 tans with Mediterranean – Tropical and Atlantic species and reproductions, like the panoramic tank, that mimics a tropical lagoon with Black Tips Sharks and Grey Bamboo Sharks. There are more than 150 animal and plant species waiting to be discovered at the aquarium, like Zebra and Leopard Morays, Bat Fish, Clown Fish and 6 different species of sharks (Black Tipped, Grey Bamboo, Brownbanded Bamboo, Coral Catshark, Samlispotted Catsharks and the Nursehound). Every Wednesday and Friday at 4.30 p.m. there is an opportunity for visitors to see the “SHARKS’ FEEDING”

EXPLORA DINOSAURS
From preistoric fishes to dinosaurs with 20 faithful representations in true dimensions, the EXPLORA visit starts 400 million years ago when life existed mostly underwater and sea creatures such as the armored fish Dunkleosteus, the Ammonite and subsequently the Megalodon were alive. The visit continues with the story of the slow passages of marine reptiles toward the land and the discovery of dinosaurs like Velociraptor, Stegosaurus, Apatosaurus, Triceraptops, Pteranodon, Brachiosaurus, Tyrannosaurus-rex and many others. Every Tuesday and Friday at 5.00 p.m. , visitors can partecipate in a ” DIG FOR DINOSAURS’ FOSSILS”.
